OBITUARY

Ruth Adair Megles

Ruth Adair Megles, 85, of Cokeburg died Wednesday January 2, 2008 in the Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born June 28, 1922 in Ellsworth, Pa. a daughter of the late Edward and Nellie Platts Watkins. Mrs. Megles was a 1940 graduate of Ellsworth High School and attended Slippery Rock University. She had been employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk in the Cokeburg and Ellsworth post offices for 20 years before retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Garwood Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the “sewing club”. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, and reading. Surviving is two daughters, Marilyn Anooshian and husband Var of Pomona, Calif., Kathleen Roberson and husband Dan of Greensboro, N.C., two sons, Mark Megles and wife Stephanie of Bloomington, Ill., George Megles and son Ebeneezer of Cokeburg, seven grandchildren, Kelly Roberson, Megan Roberson, Michael Kelly, Tara Anooshian, John Megles, Nicole Megles, Ebeneezer Megles, three great grandchildren, Andrew, Caitlin, & Madison Kelly and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents is her husband, John “Moon” Megles who died January 11, 1975, a son, Edward Megles who died February 2, 1973, two brothers, Ted & Bill Watkins, and one sister, Zelda Watkins McCormack. Friends will be received from 7-9pm Thursday and from 2-4 & 7-9pm Friday in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main St. Bentleyville, where funeral services will be held Saturday January 5, 2008 at 11:00am with Ebeneezer Megles officiating. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to: Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Ave., Washington, Pa. 15301-9986.
